The Irish in Film
A Complete List of Irish Films

Title  The Boys & Girl From County Clare
Traditional music has thrived in Ireland in spite of the onslaught of American Irish show tunes (ala "Four Leaf Clover") and British rock and roll. The traditional Irish Ceili bands still play in clubs and pubs in Ireland and in Irish havens like Liverpool and Boston. Set in the 1960s, when the Beatles dominated the airwaves, a traditional music competition draws musicians from all over Ireland and the world. The story shows in what high regard the Irish hold their music and how this love of music can hold families together or tear them apart. Music competitions are still commonplace in Ireland.
