The Irish in Film
A Complete List of Irish Films

 Title   Cal
This film has been praised for its unbiased look at the horrors of 1970's Belfast. Neither side is set up as the hero; both sides are shown as violent and ruthlessly determined. The hopelessness of the situation becomes more apparent as each act of violence, rather than making a point, spurs an act of revenge. The innocent suffer the most. Cal's father, a Catholic who works in a Protestant business, loses his home. And Marcella, the wife of a Policeman, loses her husband. Both lose their sense of security and their sense of who they are. link to Amazon.com
