The Irish in Film
A Complete List of Irish Films

 Title   Da
Probably the most important film about the post WWII Irish mind-set. Derived from the book "Home Before Night: Memories of an Irish Time and Place" and the play "Da" written by Hugh Leonard. The writer looks back at his Irish roots and confronts his dead "Da" criticizing him for sucking up to the "Quality" and knuckling down in defense of everyone except himself and his own. All the while, the haunting image of his father tries to point out that he (the son) had to leave his ways, his family, and Ireland to achieve his ambitions. link to Amazon.com
