Title  The Good Mother
Set in Boston, this film depicts the differing ideas between third generation Irish and newly arrived immigrants. Here old and new ideas about sexuality clash with the "good mother" caught in between. Ironically, it is the American whose ideas are mired by lingering shadows of church dogma. The Irish immigrant male is shown as an object of desire. It is widely believed that European men possess some special charm over American woman. Some believe it is the accent.
