The Irish in Film
A Complete List of Irish Films

 Title  In Old Chicago
Based on the true story of the O'Learys. Three young 2nd generation Irish-Americans and their plucky Irish mammy settle in 19th century Chicago. Through hard work and education they climb their way to the top. Saloons, politics and a whole heap of laundry propel them ever upward - up where the swells aren't too crazy for their company. They go quite far. They go too far if you think one must play by the rules. Chock full of Irish charm and cliché with many musical numbers to keep things light, we're lulled into a pleasant dream. That is until the family cow kicks over a lantern in a barn full of hay. It's all quite believable if you don't have a suspicious mind. Link to reviews Click picture
