The Irish in Film
A Complete List of Irish Films

Title  James Joyce (Famous Author Series)
This concise biography of one of Ireland's most famous writers covers Joyce’s life from birth to death. (1882-1942) Views of Joyce’s haunts are overlaid with narration and period music. Joyce based his ‘fiction’ on the people and places around him and here we can see the Georgian doors, streets and that infamous tower where his life and his stories were set. Starting with his birth and Jesuit education, through his disaffection of Ireland and his many travels, to his literary sponsors, we learn the origins of his famous works. Films based on Joyce’s writing include: The Dead, Ulysses, Bloom, A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Men, and Finnegans Wake (Unavailable). Link to reviews Click picture
