The Irish in Film
A Complete List of Irish Films

 Title  The Long Gray Line
This is the story of Martin "Marty" Maher based on his autobiography "Bring Up the Brass." Marty was a self-proclaimed just-off-the-boat Irishman and possessed the requisite self-deprecating, smooth-talking, ready-for-a-fight attitude expected of turn-of-the-century Irish immigrants. Landing a sports trainer's job at West Point, he learns more from his students than he teaches them, ultimately becoming one of the academy's best-loved instructors. In this film not only does Marty grow as a person, but he also becomes a shining example of a true American: democratic, unprejudiced and patriotic. Link to reviews Click picture
