The Irish in Film
A Complete List of Irish Films

 Title  St. Vincent
Set in Brooklyn in an area called Sheepshead Bay, this charming story centers around a single man named Vincent. He keeps to himself and does not share his present or his past with anyone. That is until he becomes the mentor and father figure to the 12-year-old new kid next door, Oliver. He teaches the kid how to fight and pick horses. Oliver goes to St Patrick's Catholic school and has a just-off-the-boat, Irish priest as a teacher. He asks the class to do a report on a living saint and young Oliver does not have to look far. As the story unfolds we find that under that grumpy exterior is a man with deep loyalties to his family, his colleagues and his country. Over the opening credits he tells a self-deprecating joke. So like the Irish. Link to reviews Click picture
