The Irish in Film
A Complete List of Irish Films

 Title  Tara Road
House swapping became popular in the 90's, Ireland being a favorite destination. Here two women, one American and the other Irish swap houses. The characters expect to experience something very new and different. Their preconceptions of the other's home are not only stereotyped, but outdated. In recent decades, Ireland has become more like the US. The film shows a modern Dublin of real estate booms, pop fads, and an increasingly casual attitude toward divorce. Notice that the Irish women, coming from a people who are missionaries, monastic scholars and immigrants, finds it easier to settle in to her new environment than the American.
