The Irish in Film
A Complete List of Irish Films

 Title  Claire Dolan
Over the years, many immigrants who came to the US have been exploited. Even today, woman from many countries who have struggled and saved to come to the US, end up as prostitutes when the money runs out. The Claire Dolan of the title is just such a woman. The real irony is that a fellow Irish immigrant exploits her. The usual picture is the immigrant community in the States helps out newly arrived 'cousins' from the old country. This is true for many cultures and is legendary among the Irish who prize hospitality. The scenes between Claire and her Irish pimp are jarring in and of themselves, but the Irishness of the characters makes it seem all the more heinous. Link to reviews Click picture
