The Irish in Film
A Complete List of Irish Films

 Title   Conflict, The    (aka Catholics)
This story centers around a group of Irish monks who firmly believe that the Mass should be said in Latin as it was when Rome first became Christian. These monks are willing to defy the Pope to preserve the Faith even if their own faith has failed them. To understand this conflict fully you must know the history of the Irish monk. For over a millennium, Irish monks have not only been the keepers of the faith, but also the perseveres of civilization. It is the Irish monks who are credited in Cahill's How the Irish Saved Civilization. These monks not only copied manuscripts, but also set the tone of the society by living and teaching the importance of faith, education, hard work, manners, and community.
