The Irish in Film
A Complete List of Irish Films

 Title  Hennessy
Back in 1975, a time when the IRA was growing and unrest was high, Northern Ireland became an increasing violent and dangerous place. British forces roamed the streets in full riot gear. Tensions were high. And like so many tragic events of the past, death and tragedy are triggered by a seemingly small event. Here, children throwing rocks at soldiers accidently sets of events that leads to death and retaliations that will last for months. The IRA, shown here as levelheaded and well organized, tries to stop the ever escalating turn of events. Interesting note: accrual footage of the queen and parliament are shown over objections that this is inappropriate use for a work of fiction. Link to reviews Click picture
