The true story of Alexis Shannon who traveled to Belfast to join the IRA. Alexis, a Boston native, was third generation Irish. She learned about the 'Cause' secondhand through books and classes. She attended BC for graduate work in Irish Studies. But her grandfather had fought for the Cause and she felt his passion within her. Thus she was ripe for recruitment when she met an IRA gunrunner in a 'Southie' bar. She spent two weeks in February, 1993, as an IRA operative living in constant peril. After revealing her story to US federal agents, she later disappeared and has not been heard from since.
