The Irish in Film
A Complete List of Irish Films

 Title  Shadow Dancer
During the ceasefire many Irish hoped it would be the end of the Troubles. The British, not as certain, hedged their bets by recruiting informants. These informants were insiders who knew members of IRA cells. They were often family members. It is one thing to rat on a group member and another if that group member is your brother. In this film the informants are used as pawns in a deadly game. The British are depicted as callous manipulators who find their informants expendable if their use will not add up on a ledger.
