The Irish in Film
A Complete List of Irish Films

 Title  Four Days in July
British filmmaker Mike Leigh made this film during the 1984 spike in violence in Belfast. The film depicts two young families, one Protestant and the other Catholic, living in close proximity. They harbor only mild prejudices and yet feel very divided from the other side. The goal is to show how silly all the animosity between the sides is. Some have even listed this as a comedy, but Americans will find the British humor unfathomable. The slow, realistic dialog and scenes make this more of an informational rather than an entertaining work. Link to reviews Click picture
