A Complete List of Irish Films
Title
Finian's Rainbow
|
Set in Kentucky, this film is more about racism in the south, than anything Irish. Though it does have a Leprechaun (played by an Englishman), a pot of gold, and an Irish dreamer who drinks a little. The good guys want to plow up beautiful Rainbow Valley to grow tobacco. The bad guys want to prevent the state from building a dam that will destroy the valley's natural habitat. Confused? A good heart, great dancing and wonderful songs perhaps make the Irish stereotyping forgivable. |
