Title Frankie Starlight |
Taken from the book 'The Dork from Cork' the story focuses on a young lad, Frankie, growing up in Ireland, and his search for love. Frankie's mother fled from France after WII and stowed away in a ship. Through the generosity and hospitality of the kindly family of an Irish immigration officer she was helped to stay in Ireland. Here the contrast between the French woman who, through her terrible experiences of war, has denied her faith, and the family who holds onto their beliefs through tribulation and illness, shows us that love can triumph. |
