Title Mountains of the Moon |
The Irish of British descent were treated second-best by the British according to Bram Stoker (author of Dracula), a contemporary of our subject, Sir Richard Burton. Burton was born in Ireland of an Anglo-Irish father and a Scottish mother. He traveled to Africa to find the source of the Nile with a more 'proper' Englishman (in both senses of the word) John Hanning Speke. This film deals with the story and controversy of who should get credit for their discovery. |
